Workplace investigations are often complex matters that require substantive expertise, sensitivity to a company's unique culture, and the ability to establish rapport with parties and witnesses within every level of an organization's structure. Whether a complaint involves a single individual contributor or multiple “C-suite” executives, we provide thorough, well-reasoned investigative reports that enable companies to make informed employment decisions.
Shannon has conducted private sector investigations for employers large and small, both for- and non-profit, in industries ranging from publishing to manufacturing. She regularly investigates matters involving claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, theft, fraud, whistleblower claims, threats of violence, and other forms of alleged misconduct.
Shannon has significant experience navigating diverse company cultures and workforces. As in-house counsel for an international services and technology firm, Shannon worked closely with the legal, human resources and procurement departments of numerous Fortune 100 and 500 clients, advising them on compliance and employment law best practices. She draws from that experience when conducting personnel investigations for diverse private sector clients.
At the start of an investigation, Shannon works with clients to determine the initial scope of the review, and then independently plans and conducts the neutral fact-gathering process, keeping clients apprised of the status of the investigation. Depending upon individual clients' timing and budgetary considerations, investigative findings can be delivered in the form of an executive summary, a full investigative report, or both.
